Job Summary:

The candidate will join the Accounting Team and under minimal supervision prepare, analyze, maintain, and deliver complete and accurate financial reports for a highly complex or strategic portfolio of CBRE clients and properties. The candidate will report to the Accounting Manager and cooperate closely with local accounting teams as well as the US accounting team to deliver consistent and quality service to clients.

Key duties will include:

- Completes and oversees advanced level accounting transactions in preparation of client financial statement packages.

- Creates and posts journal entries.

- Ensures that all expenses, receipts, owner's distributions, funding requests, and other transactions for the accounting period have been accurately posted.

- Provides timely and accurate analyses of accounts receivable, accounts payable, and balance sheet accounts.

- Generates and reviews financial packages for accuracy and comprehensive reporting.

- Prepares packages on a schedule to ensure timely delivery to the client and other management/US BSO teams.

- Understands and reports on accounts receivable transactions with respect to financial reporting.

- Coordinates with Entry Level Accounting AR on cash receipts and lease admin transactions.

- Reviews and audits funding and payment requests for accuracy, documentation, and authorization in accordance with established operating procedures.

- Responds to and resolves issues and requests from management teams and clients regarding various accounting issues and reports, including Profit and Loss statements.

- Researches open accounting issues and recognizes potential issues and/or conflicts to intercept and minimize issues.

- Creates or reviews complex property budgets and forecasting for assigned property portfolios.

- Participates in new property and client transitions, and client audit requests.

- Cooperates with team members and other departments-based Captive and US BSO team.

- Adheres to internal and external audit and process control requirements.

Requirements:

- Fluent English (written and spoken) is a must.

- Degree from a four-year college or university program with an emphasis in accounting, finance, or related field required.

- A minimum of 5 years prior accounting, finance, or related experience required.

- Real estate experience is a strong plus.

- Deep understanding of US accounting principles and internal controls.

- In-depth knowledge of financial terminology and the ability to perform complex calculations and financial functions including prepaid, deferred revenue/expense, depreciation/amortization, and accrual calculations.

- Strong analytical skills.

- Strong customer and service orientation.

- Excellent knowledge of MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, TEAMS).

- Proactive approach with Client and strong improvement focus.

- Strong commitment to quality, orientation to details.

- Ability to complete complex analyses, reconciliations, and communicate results.

- Ability to effectively present information to the internal department as well as other departments.

- Capability to adapt to quickly changing and demanding environment.

- Interested in Commercial Real Estate.

Qualifications:

- Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; a CPA and/or MBA may be required.

- 12+ years experience in public and/or private accounting, including 10+ years experience in progressively responsible management positions.

- Or a non-CPA with 15+ years related experience; or any similar combination of education and technical experience.

- 7+ years managing and developing professionals with proven ability to motivate, manage and lead employees.

Certificates and/or Licenses: CPA preferred.

Communication Skills:

- Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret the most complex business documents.

- Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive issues.

- Ability to write reports, manuals, speeches, and articles using distinctive style.

- Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations on complex topics to employees, clients, top management, and/or public groups.

- Ability to motivate and negotiate effectively with key employees, top management, and client groups to take desired action.

- Highly developed written, oral, and presentation skills.

- Proven ability to effectively interact with external clients, senior management, employees, regulators, and external auditors.

Financial Knowledge:

- Broad, in-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Financial Accounting Standards (FASB), theories, & practices.

- Demonstrated experience & knowledge of financial issues & economic impact beyond technical knowledge.

- Requires in-depth knowledge of financial terms and principles.

- Reviews complex financial/business analysis and reports prepared by subordinates.

- Ability to analyze the most complex business/financial data and develop innovative solutions.

- Develops and implements financial policies and procedures.

- Approves and oversees department budget.

Other Skills and Abilities:

- Advanced skills in Microsoft suite applications and real estate or other financial accounting software.

- Thorough knowledge of computer applications related to real estate accounting or financial management systems.

Scope of Responsibility:

- Decisions made with in-depth understanding and interpretation of procedures, company policies, and business practices to achieve complex results.

- Responsible for setting project, department, and/or division deadlines.

- Errors in judgment may cause long-term impact to line of business and/or overall company.
