Position Overview:
As part of our EY-Assurance Team, the Manager will be responsible for working closely with FAAS Senior Managers and leadership on clients and engagements across Americas and EMEIA to provide end-to-end services related to statutory reporting and compliance. The incumbent is expected to ensure the timeliness and quality of work as per project requirements and possess strong accounting and financial reporting knowledge.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing engagement delivery, Financial Accounting, Reporting, and GAAP conversions.
- Advising and assisting clients in accounting changes (e.g., First-time IFRS adoption, revenue recognition, lease accounting), accounting policy manuals, and technical accounting memorandums.
- Identifying and developing business opportunities; managing accounts.
- Leading a team of 10-15 team members, including engagement PMO activities.
- Maintaining effective coordination with multiple stakeholders.
- Coaching junior team members to encourage technical excellence and learning.
- Conducting detailed reviews of the team's work.
- Collaborating with other EY service lines on multi-disciplinary projects.
- Developing and delivering accounting technical training.
- Ensuring quality in delivering client service by monitoring the daily progress of fieldwork and updating Supervisors on engagement status.
- Supporting hiring, structured learning paths, and mentoring for the team.
- Demonstrating a good understanding of accounting concepts; staying informed of professional standards and firm policies, and applying this knowledge to complex client situations.
Skills and Attributes for Success:
- Expert knowledge of IFRS, US GAAP, UK GAAP, etc.
- Extensive experience in financial statement preparation and the consolidation process, GAAP conversions, and adopting new accounting standards.
- Ability to draft accounting policies and write technical memorandums.
- Technical accounting advisory expertise on complex topics (e.g., financial instruments, deferred tax, business combinations, consolidation, debt/equity).
- Ability to explain and manage complex accounting and financial reporting issues.
Qualifications:
- CA, ACCA (UK), or CPA.
- 5+ years of relevant experience.
Preferred Skills:
- Proficiency in MS-Excel, MS-Office.
- Knowledge of financial statement preparation/reporting tools (e.g., Case ware, One Source) is an additional advantage.
- Flexibility and adaptability when necessary.
- Strong project management, communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills with a proactive approach.
