Job Title: Assurance Manager

As part of our EY-Assurance Team, you will be the main point of contact for the tasks assigned by global client-serving assurance teams. You will be responsible for the timeliness and quality of deliverables, along with managing day-to-day operations of those engagements.
The Opportunity:
We're looking for individuals who can leverage their knowledge and experience to lead a team of staff and seniors delivering exceptional client service on a portfolio of assurance engagements, focusing on one of the FS sectors - asset management, banking, or insurance. The role will cover review of deliverables, risk management, project and stakeholder relationship management, and performance management of your team. You will also support operational aspects of engagements including economics and resource management. This role involves managing and coaching your team, delivering technical training on assurance methodology and FS sector knowledge, and playing a key role in their professional development.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain productive relationships with key engagement team executives and clients.
- Develop an understanding of EY's Risk Management procedures and ensure that these are embedded in the team's work.
- Work closely with EY executives to transition new engagements and services to GDS Assurance while maintaining EY's quality of service.
- Use technology to continually learn, share knowledge with team members, and enhance service delivery.
- Work on EY's suite of digital assurance tools focused on cloud technology, data analytics, and RPA.
- Demonstrate professionalism, competence, and clarity of communication when dealing with GDS and local engagement teams as well as clients.
- Identify opportunities to standardize and optimize Assurance processes across a portfolio of clients.
- Contribute to people development by encouraging individuals to actively contribute to the team. Lead by example and delegate work successfully.
- Conduct timely performance reviews and provide performance feedback and training.
- Contribute to technical and on-the-job training to continually develop the team's skills.
- Standardize assurance processes along with leveraging best practices across one's aligned engagements or beyond.
- Help team members grow by encouraging them to actively contribute to the team. Lead by example, delegate work successfully and develop and maintain high performing teams.
Skills and Attributes for Success:
- Strong knowledge of accounting and assurance standards.
- Financial Services Industry experience.
- Knowledge of International accounting (US/UK GAAP, IFRS) and assurance standards is an added advantage.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Effective interpersonal, risk management, facilitation, and presentation skills.
- Project management, leadership, coaching, and counselling skills.
- Ability to spread positive work culture and live EY values.
- The ability to quickly form strong working relationships with colleagues in India and global teams.
To Qualify for the Role, You Must Have:
- A Qualified Indian Chartered Accountant, ACCA, or CPA with at least 7 years of work experience.
Ideally, You'll Also Have:
- Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Office.
- Interest in business and commerciality.
