The Business Analyst (BA) serves as the connection point between the Product Line Lead, Report Advisors, and the technical and Quality Assurance (QA) teams. The BA translates functional requirements into detailed technical specifications, supports the development cycle, and drives functional validation until enhancements and resolved defects are ready for production. The BA also provides end-user support, reviews regular data updates, conducts validations, and sends out communications when necessary.

The Engagement product line focuses on client servers with responsibilities on engagements like the Engagement Partner & Manager, Billing and Partner, Opportunity Partners, the engagement team, and the engagement support teams. Essentials for Engagements is the primary reporting tool within this product line. The main responsibility is to manage the continuous enhancement and defect management of the tools and reports, ensuring smooth operations and timely customer support.

The Reporting and Data Analytics sub-function (R&DA) provides powerful analytical solutions to evolve our ability to provide insights to the business. R&DA helps EY keep pace with analytical and technological changes, evolving our tools and information analysis to support client serving and corporate responsibilities in a rapidly changing world.

Your key responsibilities:

- Turn solution designs into requirements (user stories) including acceptance criteria ensuring quality, consistency, ease-of-use, and alignment with overall design principles.

- Moderate between technical and QA teams and customer-facing Report Advisor roles.

- Identify opportunities to enhance reporting tools and optimize underlying processes and quality checks.

- Coordinate with technical & QA teams based on agreed roadmap.

- Validate enhancements and resolved defects from functional and data accuracy perspectives.

- Review defects (SNOW), support their remediation, and assist customers.

- Work closely with QA team to define validation criteria and activities and prioritize defects.

- Support R&DA internal and external User Acceptance Test (UAT) activities.

- Collaborate with senior BA and the entire BA team.

- Assist report advisors with functional input and support for design and training sessions.

- Learn from solutions of other product line teams to ensure consistency and usability.

Skills and attributes for success:

- Experience in project management; agile/scrum project management is beneficial.

- Good communication skills with the ability to flex between functional and technical conversations.

- Understanding of EY's end-to-end reporting processes and key management structures.

- Knowledge of EY's financial business rules, KPIs, and key source systems (e.g., Mercury, Dynamics, MDM, Time & Expenses, Billing).

- Light experience with UX design and requirement documentation.

- Familiarity with data and root cause analysis and data validation.

- Interest in technical solutions and data analysis; preferable knowledge of SQL, Power BI, dimensional models, and cubes.

- Solution-oriented and problem-solving skills.

- Detail-oriented, analytical, and structured work approach.

- Fluent English skills.

Experience:

- 3 or more years of experience in a finance or technical department.

- Some relevant business experience within EY is beneficial.

- High motivation to learn from experienced colleagues.
