Job Title: Junior Business Analyst - Financials Product Line

The opportunity
The Business Analyst (BA) serves as the connection point between the Product Line Lead, Report Advisors, and the technical and Quality Assurance (QA) teams. The BA translates functional requirements into detailed technical specifications, supports the development cycle, and drives functional validation until enhancements and resolved defects are ready to be moved into production. Additionally, the BA provides end-user support, reviews regular data updates, conducts functional and data-related validations, and communicates when necessary.
The Financials product line focuses on business management roles and their Finance teams, managing organizational entities from a Profit & Loss Statement and employee & utilization perspective. Essentials for Financials, Profit & Loss statements, and People Flash reporting are the primary reporting tools within this product line. The main responsibility is to manage the continuous enhancement and defect management of these tools and reports and ensure smooth operations and good & timely customer support.
The Reporting and Data Analytics sub-function (R&DA) is a leading-edge organization providing powerful analytical solutions to evolve our ability to provide insights to the business. The R&DA ensures that EY is keeping pace with many analytical and technological changes, evolving our tools and the way we look at information, to best support client-serving and corporate responsibilities in a rapidly changing business world.
Your key responsibilities:
- Help turn solutions designs into requirements (user stories) including acceptance criteria, ensuring quality, consistency, ease-of-use, and alignment with overall design principles.
- Regularly discuss and align with the technical and QA teams.
- Support technical & QA teams based on agreed roadmap and priorities to stay within the timeline.
- Validate enhancements as well as resolved defects from a functional and data accuracy point of view.
- Review defects (SNOW) and support their remediation.
- Work closely with the QA team based on defined validation criteria and activities, ensuring high quality of deliverables.
- Support R&DA internal and external User Acceptance Test (UAT) activities.
- Maintain relevant supporting tools (e.g., HMT, Phasing Tools, Hierarchies, etc.).
- Work hand in hand with the more senior BAs.
- Review and learn from solutions of other product line teams to ensure consistency and usability.
Skills and attributes for success:
- Good communication with the ability to flex between functional and technical conversations.
- Basic understanding of EY's financial business rules, KPIs, and the key source systems (e.g., Mercury, P&B).
- Light experience with requirement documentation.
- Ability to conduct data and root cause analysis.
- Interest in technical solutions and analyzing data, preferably with knowledge of SQL, Power BI, dimensional models, and cubes.
- Problem-solving and customer orientation skills.
- Detail-oriented, analytical, structured work approach, with an emphasis on quality and consistency.
- Good English skills.

Experience:
- 1 or more years of experience in a finance or technical department.
- Some relevant business experience within EY would be beneficial.
