The opportunity
The Business Analyst (BA) is the connection point between the Product Line Lead, Report Advisors, and the technical and Quality Assurance (QA) teams. The BA translates functional requirements into detailed technical specifications, supports the development cycle, and drives functional validation until enhancements and resolved defects are ready to be moved into Production. Additionally, the BA provides end-user support, reviews regular data updates, conducts functional and data-related validations, and sends out communications when necessary.
The Leadership product line is a new product line focused on senior business management roles and their appropriate teams with responsibility for organizational entities like Global, Area, Region, and Service Lines. The target audience includes Profit & Loss, Markets (Global TER, Account Margin, and Sales & Pipeline). A new tool is planned for this audience. The main responsibility is to manage the continuous enhancement and defect management of tools and reports, ensure smooth operations, and provide timely customer support.
The Reporting and Data Analytics sub-function (R&DA) is a leading-edge organization providing powerful analytical solutions to evolve our ability to provide insights to the business. R&DA ensures that EY is keeping pace with the many analytical and technological changes in the business world, evolving our tools and the way we look at information, to best support client services as well as corporate responsibilities in a rapidly changing business environment.
Your key responsibilities
- Turn solution designs into requirements (user stories) including acceptance criteria ensuring quality, consistency, ease-of-use, and alignment with overall design principles.
- Moderate between the technical, QA teams, and the customer-facing Report Advisor roles.
- Identify opportunities to enhance the reporting tools and optimize and stabilize the underlying process and quality checks.
- Coordinate with technical and QA teams based on an agreed roadmap.
- Validate enhancements and resolved defects from a functional and data accuracy perspective.
- Review defects (SNOW), support their remediation, and assist customers.
- Collaborate with the QA team to define validation criteria and activities, and help prioritize defects to ensure high-quality deliverables.
- Support internal and external User Acceptance Test (UAT) activities within R&DA.
- Work closely with the senior BA and the entire BA team.
- Assist report advisors by providing functional input and support for design and training sessions.
- Review and learn from solutions of other product line teams to ensure consistency and usability.
Skills and attributes for success
- Experience in project management; knowledge of agile/scrum methodologies would be beneficial
- Effective communication skills with the ability to navigate between functional and technical discussions
- Comprehensive understanding of EY's end-to-end processes, financial accounting rules, and key management structures
- Understanding of EY's financial business rules, KPIs, key source systems (e.g., Mercury, Dynamics, MDM, P&B, GRP)
- Basic experience with UX design and requirement documentation
- Familiarity with data and root cause analysis, as well as data validation
- Interest or experience in technical solutions and data analysis, with preferable knowledge in SQL, Power BI, dimensional models, and cubes
- Solution-oriented and problem-solving skills
- Detail-oriented, analytical, and structured work approach with a focus on quality and consistency
- Fluent English skills

Experience
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a finance or technical department
- Some relevant business experience within EY would be beneficial
