**The Opportunity:**

We are looking for a professional to join EY FAAS, having expertise across the FAAS solutions and specifically for engagements related to transactions and technical accounting governance. The Manager will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients and ensuring the timeliness and quality of work as per EY Global Standards for our FAAS team. This role includes supporting EY practices and clients globally, with short-term travel to other countries as needed for client engagements.

**Key Responsibilities:**

- Lead global or domestic client service teams to execute FAAS solutions, including:

- Accounting and PMO support for transactions such as purchase price accounting, divestiture/carve-out accounting, IPOs, SPACs, and fresh start (bankruptcy) accounting

- Preparation of financial statements/MD&A

- GAAP conversion

- Accounting policy and governance

- Technical accounting research and advisory

- Remediation and readiness

- Organizing and providing technical training

- Addressing service delivery quality issues

**Manage and Develop People:**

- Lead a team of Assistant Managers and Seniors, ensuring high-quality work delivery on time and within budget, as per EY Global methodology.

- Conduct performance reviews for the FAAS team, serve as a positive leader and mentor, and contribute to team performance.

- Identify development opportunities and training needs for high-performing Assistant Managers, Seniors, or Staff.

**Manage Business and Clients:**

- Actively support Americas or EMEIA FAAS leadership in terms of growth and quality initiatives.

- Enhance relationships with global teams and leverage connections to identify opportunities for work at the GDS.

- Apply independent and objective professional judgment in applying accounting standards to meet engagement expectations, including regulatory requirements.

- Stay informed of professional standards and firm policies and effectively apply this knowledge to moderately difficult and/or complex client situations.

- Undertake practice development activities, including contributing to thought leadership pieces, running industry events, delivering training, or managing team communications.

- Contribute to business development activities to identify and research opportunities with new or existing clients.

**Skills and Attributes for Success:**

- Expert knowledge of IFRS or US GAAP and International accounting standards.

- Extensive hands-on experience in transaction accounting and reporting (IPOs, SPACs, Carve Outs, PPA, etc.), GAAP conversions, and implementing new accounting standards.

- Proficiency in drafting and designing accounting policies, technical accounting research and advisory, consolidation and compilation support, and the financial statement close process.

- Flexibility and willingness to travel on short notice, as necessary.

- Strong written and verbal communication, presentation, and technical writing skills.

**Qualifications:**

- Chartered Accountant (CA), CPA (US) or ACCA (UK).

- 6-10 years of post-qualification experience in assurance or finance controllership roles, including 2+ years of Financial Accounting and Advisory experience.

- Candidates with prior Big 10 experience would be an added advantage.
