Job Title: Financial Planning Operations Analyst
Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Planning Area Liaison (PAL) to join our team. The successful candidate will serve as the primary contact for the selected area regarding all aspects of the financial planning and forecast processes. The PAL will ensure that the needs of the users and the leadership of the area are understood, communicated, and addressed in a timely and high-quality manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish relationships with members of the area Finance leadership team and key users in the regions to provide support and insights on the financial planning and forecast processes.
- Become familiar with the internal tools and processes used by the planning community in the area.
- Respond to user inquiries regarding system access, data quality, system functionality, and other planning-related questions.
- Gather feedback from users regarding the system's functionality and improvements through formal requirements gathering sessions and informal communications.
- Oversee area planning application enablement, including user documentation, user setup, system security, account management, product launch coordination, and feedback/requirement collection.
- Observe how users interact with the system and provide suggestions for improvement.
- Work with Product Managers and the Product Excellence specialist to create user stories for new functionality based on user requests.
- Participate in the functional testing of new systems/functions.
- Demonstrate flexibility to work in a global role, which may sometimes require availability outside of traditional business hours or an adjustment of business hours based on the candidate's location.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with both technical team members and non-technical stakeholders, including area leadership.
- Experience in writing clear, concise, and comprehensive business requirements.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills with keen attention to detail, focused on understanding complaints, analyzing data, and identifying the root cause of data quality issues.
- Ability to work independently and communicate effectively.
- Strong Excel and modeling skills.
- Strong presentation skills, including the ability to bring new ideas and defend your position.
- Hands-on experience with Planning systems, preferably Oracle Planning/Essbase/SmartView.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
- Ability to work with a Global mindset.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
- Familiarity with defect tracking and requirements gathering tools such as ServiceNow and Azure DevOps.
- 5 years' experience in a medium to large corporations performing financial analysis and/or process enablement.
