Senior Finance Analyst – ES-Finance: Reporting and Data Analytics
We provide reporting solutions or requirements through finance, markets, and operations reporting along with cyclical and critical controlling processes such as Forecasting, Financial Planning, Revenue Planning, Markets Leadership Planning, and Cash Reporting to help you make better business decisions. With projects like Mercury, we also support business transformation and expand our services to support all Regions with their reporting and analytics needs.
The Opportunity
As a Senior Finance Analyst, you will collaborate with business, reporting, and other teams to understand business requirements and perform data analysis. You will get involved and lead in project transitions from different teams, doing enhancements and modifications post-transition when needed. This role will ideally handle more complex issues and special projects than a junior financial analyst.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Generate standard reports periodically and identify and solve issues that affect reporting
- Knowledge of global reporting and consolidation (Area, Region, Service line reporting)
- Handle complex ad hoc reports from stakeholders in a timely manner
- Proactively participate in the financial planning process
- Ensure a proper review mechanism is in place for respective teams
- Develop new reports/dashboards and enhance existing reports by automating the report preparation as much as possible
- Mentor, guide, and train junior analysts and new recruits
- Power BI and SQL knowledge
- Analyze large sets of data to determine patterns and rules for organizing and preparing visualization dashboards using Power BI
- Handle multiple projects and coordinate between teams from different service lines
- Analyze and create complex SQL queries to support data extracts needed for further processing in Data Analytics
- Coordinate the development of ETL/data warehouse best practices needed to support new and evolving sources of data used in reporting, transaction processing, and analytics
- Perform extensive and detailed data analysis to ensure strict adherence to data quality
- Take on end-to-end ownership and perform different roles within analysis and development phases
- Set and manage expectations with stakeholders while providing proactive communication and status updates
- Prioritize deliverables with stakeholders/requestors and follow/implement change control and release management processes
Skills and Attributes for Success
- Possess statistical or data-driven and problem-solving skills
- Have a sound understanding of basic accounting concepts
- Possess good communication skills
- Be strong in MS Excel skills
- Understand financial reporting goals and basic process flow
- Ability to understand numbers and arrive at inferences
- Have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to teach juniors
To Qualify for the Role, You Must Have
- More than 5 years of experience in advanced knowledge as a data analyst and/or SQL Server
- More than 3 years of working knowledge in Power BI Visualization tool.
- Working knowledge in MS Excel Macros will be added advantage
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in a related field
