Job Title: Treasury & CRM Specialist

About the Business Unit:
As the major catalysts supplier to the automotive industry, BASF will establish a separate mobile emissions catalyst, automotive catalysts recycling, and associated precious metal services entity. The new entity will be named BASF Automotive Catalysts and Recycling. This standalone structure will operate globally and comprise approximately 20 production sites and over 4,000 employees.
About the Role:
Responsible for decision making and execution of cash management and foreign currency hedging for companies assigned under the Regional Treasury platform. Preparation of monthly liquidity forecast reports for assigned companies and ensuring compliance with internal and external rules and regulations as well as corporate governance.
Main Tasks:
- Decision making and execution of cash management and foreign currency hedging of assigned companies under the Treasury Services.
- Monitor cash management and foreign currency exposure of assigned companies on a daily basis; make decisions on cash investment, loan draw-down/repayment, and foreign currency hedging.
- Initiate deal entries in SAP; work closely with the Back Office to ensure smooth execution, settlement, and accounting entries.
- Stay updated on banking products, money market, currency markets, and trading systems for assigned countries.
- Optimize bank account structure in the assigned country and manage banking relations.
- Prepare monthly liquidity forecast reports and 6-month rolling cash flow forecasts on a monthly basis for designated companies based on business trends and working capital KPIs.
- Ensure compliance with internal and external regulations and corporate governance.
- Support internal and external auditing of Front Office operations.
- Serve as an expert for cash and foreign exchange management as well as money market and currency market development for assigned countries in Asia Pacific.
- Take initiatives to streamline or re-engineer treasury processes towards digitalization and best practice standards.
- Maintain relationships with internal and external business partners, identify new opportunities for operational efficiency.
- Represent Regional Treasury in global and regional projects for cash and foreign currency management topics. Collaborate with global and regional relevant units.
CRM Related:
- Perform periodic credit risk analysis and monitor risk development and KPIs for India customers according to global and regional CRM guidelines.
- Ensure quality and timely completion of periodic CRM reports in collaboration with local Business Units, controllers, and the BSSCKL team.
- Support global and regional CRM projects by sharing country-specific CRM knowledge.
- Review current CRM processes and drive continuous process improvement to maximize efficiency and maintain proper risk control.
- Liaise with internal and external statutory auditors for the area of responsibilities.
Education:
- CA or MBA Finance with Commerce graduation.
Experience:
- 5-7 years' experience in credit risk management, cash management, and foreign exchange trading and risk management, preferably in the automobile industry.
- Knowledge in SAP and advanced computer skills in MS Office application.
Desired Skills:
- Profound understanding and operational experience in finance and treasury such as cash forecasting, pooling, netting, bank deposits, loans, money market, foreign currency derivatives, as well as local finance-related regulatory framework and environment in major Asia countries.
- Ability to develop and analyze cash flow statements and liquidity forecast plans.
- Proficient skills in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SAP, 360T, Fireapps, Bloomberg, and Power BI.
- High proficiency in English with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
