About the position:Velosio is looking for a Staff Accountant to be an integral member of the Finance Team. As a Staff Accountant at Velosio you will beresponsible for general bookkeeping, developing budgets, generating cost reports, and preparing monthly financial analysis reports. The Staff Accountant helps the Director of Finance and the Chief Financial Officer in carrying out the duties of the Accounting Department. Your day might look like:Maintain and reviewgeneral ledger accounts and preparing and adjusting journal entries.Perform account analysis, verification, and reconciliation, including bank statements.Prepare payments by accruing expenses and assigning account numbers when needed.Prepare various financial documents for compliance with regulations.Assist with the month-end closing process and finalizing financial statements.Analyze current procedures and recommend changes to develop and implement best practice accounting procedures.Perform administrative duties such as maintaining schedules, providing telephone support, filing, transcription and the production of forms.Maintain confidentiality of appropriate information. What you'll bring:Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Accounting or Finance.General knowledge of accounting concepts and procedures.Strong work ethic and ability to work both alone and as a member of a team.Versatile and able to multitask, handling multiple projects or responsibilities at once.Excellent attention to detail with the ability to recognize discrepancies.Strong oral and written communication skills.
