It covers functions across IED and Fixed Income Division (FID) ranging from those associated with sales, trading, analytics, strats, to risk management.

Background of the Team

The PB finance team is based in New York within the Institutional Equities Division (IED) of Morgan Stanley and focuses on the following key functions:

- Identify, analyze, and prioritize new and existing business opportunities with our clients

- Liaise with Sales and Client Service to provide a holistic view of client value

- Facilitate cross-divisional communication concerning the PB business and its client base

- Partner with support services to ensure the integrity of data and processes used to support the business.

Primary Responsibilities

The role is based out of Mumbai and requires working with the PB finance team in New York within the Institutional Equities Division (IED) Department. The role will require a fast-learning, dynamic, pro-active, and self-motivated person to assist in analyzing and reporting revenues and profitability.

Key responsibilities include:

- Providing support to senior team members in the production of business and client metrics including development and maintenance of ongoing reporting of revenues, balances, and profitability

- Ownership of key account metrics including client segment analysis, tiering, client PBT, and ROA production and review

- Producing weekly/monthly/quarterly management reports

- Preparing regular and ad hoc analyses for PB sales and SRM in advance of client meetings and pitches, including business mix analysis

- Producing client revenue summaries to be delivered to the NY team for client discussions

- Working closely with IT to develop and implement solutions in line with business needs

- Liaising with the finance team in the preparation of monthly business level analytics including product attribution and spread analysis

- Preparing and owning the weekly client selection committee meeting by maintaining ongoing dialogue with all the disciplines involved

- Providing leverage for ad hoc client and internal requests.

Additional responsibilities include:

- Global PB Business and Client Metrics, including budgeting and forecasting

- Identifying trends in client revenue and recognizing commercial opportunities

- Driving the creation of client metrics for PB management

- Collaborating with PB disciplines (Sales, Client Service, and Risk) and stock loan in the evaluation, approval, and pricing of new business

- Interfacing with clients on pricing, funding, and liquidity questions

- Driving technology initiatives – including the development of creative solutions and prioritizing technology resources

- Partnering with other areas with respect to the preparation and presentation of information to regulatory bodies

- Partnering with all disciplines across PB to ensure the Client Selection Committee meeting runs smoothly.

Qualifications

Skills required (essential):

- Chartered Accountants only

- 2-4 years of experience

- Familiarity with VBA is an added advantage

- Excellent written and spoken English; excellent business writing skills

- Excellent telephone skills (regular phone contact with the team required)

- Hands‑on experience with Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

- Attention to detail and ability to work independently

- Pro-active and results-oriented mind-set

- Ability to think creatively and strategically and thrive in a dynamic work environment

- Ability to effectively prioritize and handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines

- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and across organizational boundaries.
