JOB SUMMARY
This role is within the Corporate and Investment Banking (CIB) business. The CIB business has a global footprint with annual revenue exceeding USD 11 billion and risk-weighted assets around USD 140 billion. The asset portfolio includes a wide variety of financial instruments. The Business Performance Operations finance team supports the CFOs by providing financial insights and performance tracking of strategic initiatives. The incumbent is expected to possess a forward-looking mindset.
The VP Country Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB) is a key leadership role within Business Performance Operations, delivering business partnering and FP&A to Country Heads on performance management. Broad areas covered within this role include being the Functional Owner on FP&A deliverables for the country, driving business performance conversation with the Country Heads, ensuring consistency across all markets, and providing actionable insights to the business.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategy
- Build and execute strategic actions in collaboration with all stakeholders to drive business performance aligned with the Bank’s Strategic Priorities.
- Build a strong team with future-ready skills and excellence ingrained in the DNA.
- Develop high-performance Business Finance teams driving global standard and optimized service offerings.
Business
- Serve as an effective Finance Business Partner, responsible for providing standard Performance MI with insights on current performance, analytics, and deep dives on business performance.
- Partner with Business Heads and CFOs to drive and manage Country Performance via agreed metrics.
Processes
- Act as the Functional Owner of the FP&A process, responsible for implementing industry best practices in Performance Management, Forecasting, and Business Analytics.
- Drive continuous process improvement, enhancing efficiency and control within the FP&A.
- Collaborate with other Business Performance leads to ensure standard and consistent MI is delivered across CIB.
People & Talent
- Lead, inspire, and motivate teams to ensure they achieve their potential and deliver on their collective agenda.
- Enhance the overall culture of the organization through targeted actions.
- Build and execute a People Engagement strategy to improve overall employee well-being.
- Employ, engage, and retain high-quality staff, with succession planning for critical roles.
- Review team structure/capacity plans and set SMART objectives for direct reports with feedback and rewards aligned with their performance.
Risk Management
- Represent BPO in Service Review engagements with CFOs, providing management insights and addressing any CFO-level actions from Review meetings.
- Act to minimize operational loss and audit failures, taking proactive measures to manage forward-looking risks.
Governance
- Build and review governance frameworks around Standard MI, internal controls, and adherence to policy.
Regulatory & Business Conduct
- Display exemplary conduct and uphold the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct.
- Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank.
- Lead to achieve the outcomes set out in the Bank’s Conduct Principles and effectively manage and resolve risk and compliance matters.

Qualification
- MBA, CA, CFA, ACCA with a minimum of 10 years of experience (post qualification) in the financial services industry, with at least 5+ years of People Management experience.

- Leadership experience in Banking business finance, including RWA management and balance sheet management.
