Job Summary
Submission of P&L, Forecast month-end P&L liaising with wider finance team and business COOs. Performing deal review and approving fee recognition based on IFRS9 and IFRS 15 principles. Ensure appropriate controls and reviews are maintained for Daily P&L production, Core reconciliations, Month-end close, and BSRS. Should be able to substantiate daily and monthly adjustments held in P&L and control accounts. Help to guide and train team members to ensure adherence to controls.
Responsibilities
- Submit and forecast month-end P&L, liaising with the wider finance team and business COOs.
- Perform deal reviews and approve fee recognition based on IFRS9 and IFRS 15 principles.
- Maintain appropriate controls and reviews for daily P&L production, core reconciliations, month-end close, and BSRS.
- Substantiate daily and monthly adjustments held in P&L and control accounts.
- Guide and train team members to ensure adherence to controls.
Strategy
- Review monthly balance sheet, with substantiation and potential financial exposure.
- Review/Prepare various reconciliation reports, management packs, and ad-hoc reports.
- Post and review month-end journals for accrual, provision, and true-up.
- Take responsibility for the quality of work submitted and ensure that the highest standards are maintained by the team.
Business
- Ensure adherence to SLA's, KPI's, Internal metrics & FMG-wide policies.
- Identify and manage risk and control breakdowns.
- Develop and maintain effective and standard processes.
- Maintain KOP's/DI's.
- Support change project initiatives and conduct User Acceptance Testing for system enhancements.
- Produce monthly packs and assist in implementing strong controls and consistent processes.
- Balance Sheet & RWA forecasts for Corporate Finance.
Client Analytics
- Understand client performance, relationship, and resource consumption.
- Produce and validate CF scorecards for measuring business performance.
- Conduct bespoke analysis surrounding ledger and client balances to help the business achieve its target.
People & Talent
- Lead by example and build the appropriate culture and values within the team.
- Ensure the provision of ongoing training and development for team members.
- Ensure critical functions are suitably skilled and qualified, ensuring effective supervision to mitigate risks.
- Employ, engage, and retain high-quality talent, with succession planning for critical roles.
- Set and monitor job descriptions and objectives for direct reports, providing feedback and rewards in line with performance.
Regulatory & Business Conduct

- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines, and the Group Code of Conduct.

- Identify, escalate, mitigate, and resolve risk and compliance matters effectively.
Stakeholder Management
- Regularly interface with business, product control management, regional finance teams, and other internal stakeholders.
- Act as a point of reference for the asset class.
- Manage relationships with internal stakeholders, gather feedback, and escalate issues for timely resolution.
- Maintain strong relationships with support teams (IT, Operations, Risk) and foster synergies across cross-functional teams.
Qualifications
- CA or MBA (Finance) from a reputed institution.
- 6+ years of experience, with at least 3 years in product control.
- Good understanding of Accounting and Financial Markets products.
- Proficiency in PeopleSoft financials, SAP, MS Office, and MS SQL is an added advantage.
- Strong control mindset with excellent analytical skills.
- Strong interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills to build an effective internal network with stakeholders.
