Job Description

The Solutions Consultant serves a lead role in research and requirement analysis. The Solutions Consultant will complete the requirements that the development team will use to develop or enhance the company's product offerings and require little guidance. The Solutions Consultant is involved throughout the software development life cycle starting with requirements gathering and continuing all the way through to the successful release of the software. This position reports to the department Manager.

Deliverables and Performance Measures:

- Works to refine clarity and consistency of documentation by anticipating potential queries from development and testing teams and reviewing documentation to ensure it is unambiguous and complete.

- Analyzes customer requests to identify system impacts and actively engages the customer in discussions on the pros and cons of the requested system updates.

- Actively pursue opportunities to enhance industry knowledge of insurance products.

- Actively gathers data from multiple sources (customer, product guides, marketing materials, prospectus, style guides, mockups etc.) to drive solutions to business problems.

- Demonstrates the ability to make trade-off decisions between potential solutions.

- Is proficient at implementing standard and non-standard customer requirements in at least one of our platforms.

- Identifies and analyzes problems and proposes solutions.

- Effectively manages day-to-day issues and problems without intervention.

- Generates new ideas by analyzing client requirements and system functionality.

- Address less complex issues directly with the client and knows when to engage more senior team members' support.

- Elicits customer requirements by reviewing customer requests and associated documentation, conducting walk-through sessions, analyzing workflows, etc.

- Autonomously and in partnership with others, analyzes situations and customer needs.

- Writes clear and concise specifications that are of an appropriate level of detail.

What will make you successful:

- Minimum of 3+ years working experience in the financial services or insurance industry, either directly through sales/marketing support, illustration or through a vendor position.

- Must have intermediate knowledge of Life and Annuity products and concepts.

- Knowledge of other insurance products, such as Long-Term Care and Disability required.

- Minimum of 2+ years of experience in gathering and writing business requirements for life and annuity products required.

- Industry Certifications and/or licenses preferred.

- An understanding of Agile Software Development Life Cycle is preferred.

- Has an intermediate understanding of how product features are implemented within our systems.

Expected hours of Work:

This is a full-time position with regular office hours from Monday through Friday. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required to support deployments and other work demands.
