Job Title: Statutory Accountant
The Opportunity:
As a Statutory Accountant, you will be a key member of the WW Statutory Team, participating in the preparation of financial statements and direct tax compliance. You will collaborate closely with tax teams, the financial operations statutory team, and our tax outsource vendor. Additionally, you will be responsible for providing executive summaries on financial statements to the company directors.
Responsibilities:
- Preparation of annual statutory balance sheet reviews and quarterly profit and loss analytical reviews, including reconciliation of management vs. statutory accounting.
- Strong understanding of accounting and finance concepts; hands-on experience with finance systems (e.g., Netsuite).
- Managing internal financial controls and interpreting accounting policies and procedures to facilitate internal financial control.
- Participating in or preparing annual sets of financial statements and applicable notes in accordance with local GAAP, including balance sheet, income statement, equity statement, cash flow statement, and notes.
- Supporting tax compliance, including finalization of tax provisions (current and deferred), transfer pricing finalization, and filing of tax returns in consultation with our tax outsourced partner and tax team.
- Handling key judgment matters such as ECL at an entity level, impairment analysis push down, going concern memos, and material error resolutions.
- Ensuring compliance with various statutes and control parameters; identifying risks and addressing them with mitigating controls.
- Experience with SoX Controls and reporting.
- Enabling and supporting directors with analytical reviews on annual results and providing executive summaries.
Requirements:
- Qualified Chartered Accountant with 6+ years of post-qualification experience in reputable MNCs or large Indian business houses.
- Exposure to IFRS and M&A is a must.
- Proficiency in SoX Controls and reporting.
- Excellent analytical and business application skills (e.g., Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint).
- Self-starter with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with diverse teams with minimal supervision.
- Strong focus on accounting, compliance, and controls.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Capability to multi-task and deliver timely results.
- Readiness to work in a change management environment.
- Superior teamwork and project management skills.
