Technical Payments Business Analyst

Job Description:

Cognizant is seeking an experienced Technical Payments Business Analyst to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for a range of business analysis activities to support our payment systems.

Business Analysis Planning:

- Develop business analysis approach

- Preparing for and facilitating requirements elicitation sessions

- Communicating elicitation results

- Managing stakeholder collaboration

Requirements Analysis and Definition:

- Specifying and modeling requirements using Atlassian Confluence / JIRA

- Capturing 'as-is' / 'to-be' states (system/operational)

- Verifying and validating requirements, obtaining approval/sign-off

Requirements Lifecycle Management:

- Prioritizing requirements and managing backlog grooming

- Managing requirements traceability and changes

Solution Definition and Validation:

- Collaborate with Solution Designer to define solution options

- Performing UAT and validating working solutions

Training:

- Conducting demos and walkthroughs of implemented solutions

- Producing user guides and knowledge base articles

Stakeholder Engagement:

- Engage with Product Managers, Operational teams, Sales teams, Technical Delivery Partners

- Communicate with external stakeholders like Third Party Vendors and Institutional Customers

- Collaborate with Technical Delivery, Dev Ops, Infrastructure, and Support teams

Agile Practices:

- Lead and participate in Agile ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, team planning sessions, retrospectives, and showcases

BA Practice Contribution:

- Participate in team meetings and share knowledge, tools, and tips

- Foster an all-inclusive, friendly environment

Experience & Key Skills (Required):

- At least 5 years of experience as a Technical BA/Systems Analyst

- Strong Business Analysis skills

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Proficiency in Atlassian suite (Confluence, Jira)

- Experience writing requirements as epics and stories

- Expertise in various modeling techniques (BPMN / UML)

- Skilled in facilitating workshops with business and technical stakeholders

- Ability to manage multiple features simultaneously and self-manage priorities

- Proven track record of championing projects to completion

- Proficiency in Agile methodologies (Scrum and Kanban)

- Ability to quickly become SME in a topic/business domain/product or application

- Inquisitive nature and willingness to ask questions

Experience & Key Skills (Desirable):

- Background in finance and/or banking, particularly within payments

- Familiarity with ISO and SWIFT MT message formats

- Experience with API technologies and documentation

- Proficiency in developing models using Confluence Gliffy (process/activity/mind-maps)

- Experience in developing UI wireframes using Confluence Balsamic / Gliffy

- SQL scripting skills

- Good understanding of IT infrastructure
