Job Summary

Develop and maintain appropriate policies and procedures to ensure the accounting, management, and financial reporting integrity of the trading desks' balance sheet and P&L. Develop and execute procedures for Balance Sheet Reconciliation and Substantiation. The role is based out of Bangalore and reports to the AVP of the respective Asset Class. The PC team supports various asset classes like FX, Rates, Credit, etc.

Responsibilities

- Responsible for P&L and Balance Sheet-related controls covering various product categories and regions (Asset classes: Credit, Equities, Fixed Income, Commodities, Treasury, etc.).

- Ensure controls and reviews are maintained for Daily P&L production, Core reconciliations, Month-end close, and Balance Sheet Substantiation.

- Ensure timely lockdown of daily and monthly P&L by teams.

- Substantiate daily and monthly adjustments held in P&L and control accounts.

- Review monthly/quarterly balance sheet substantiation and potential financial exposure.

- Review various reconciliation reports, management packs, and ad-hoc reports.

- Review month-end journals for accruals, provisions, and true-ups.

- Ensure high standards of quality in submitted work.

- Ensure adherence to SLAs, KPIs, internal metrics, and FMG-wide policies.

- Identify and manage risk and control breakdowns.

- Develop and maintain effective and standard processes.

- Maintain Key Operating Procedures (KOPs)/Desktop Instructions (DIs).

- Support change project initiatives and conduct User Acceptance Testing for systems enhancements or migrations.

Strategy

- Review the monthly balance sheet, with substantiation and potential financial exposure.

- Prepare various reconciliation reports, management packs, and ad-hoc reports.

- Post and review month-end journals for accruals, provisions, and true-ups.

- Ensure high standards of quality in submitted work.

Business

- Ensure adherence to SLAs, KPIs, internal metrics, and FMG-wide policies.

- Identify and manage risk and control breakdowns.

- Develop and maintain effective and standard processes.

- Maintain KOPs/DIs.

- Support change project initiatives and conduct User Acceptance Testing for system enhancements or migrations.

- Produce monthly packs and assist in implementing sound controls and consistent processes.

- Balance Sheet & RWA forecasting for Corporate Finance.

- Client Analytics - Understanding client performance, relationships, and resource consumption.

- Produce and validate CF scorecards to measure business performance.

- Conduct bespoke analysis of ledger and client balances to help the business achieve targets.

Risk Management

- Ensure controls and reviews are maintained for Daily P&L production, core reconciliations, month-end close, and BSRS.

Key Stakeholders

- Regular engagement with Deal Team, Product Control Management, Regional finance team, and various internal stakeholders within GFS.

- Act as a point of reference for team members and internal clients.

- Manage relationships with internal stakeholders, take regular feedback, anticipate and understand issues, and escalate appropriately for timely resolution.

- Manage strong relationships with support teams (IT, Operations, and Risk) and bring synergies by interacting and integrating with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

- MBA, CA, CFA, ACCA with a minimum of 6+ years of experience (post qualification) in a financial service industry with at least 2+ years of People Management experience.

- Strong leadership skills and ability to manage teams.

- Control mindset and ability to identify and mitigate control gaps.

- Good understanding of financial market products.
