Job Description
As a Commercial Business Analyst, you are responsible for driving the strategic insight work and analysis of our merchandising through advanced data, customer, and consumer insights regarding our products. You will independently set the scope and initiate analyses based on the needs of the merchandising organization, demonstrating leadership, analytical prowess, and a deep understanding of industry trends.
You have a deep interest in retail analytics, inventory optimization, and merchandising strategy development. You are a customer and sales-driven professional with a strategic mindset. You thrive in a fast-paced and agile environment and are a natural team player who fosters collaboration across channels, roles, and functions.
Key responsibilities:
- Conduct in-depth analysis of sales trends, customer behaviors, and market dynamics to identify growth opportunities and areas for improvement; use statistical models and forecasting techniques to drive data-driven decision-making.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, competitor product strategies, and emerging technologies to challenge current plans, maintain competitive advantage, and support executional excellence by providing market intelligence on how to position, activate, and optimize our offers.
- Analyze SEO insights to support the SEO aspect of our assortment strategy in close collaboration with merchandising managers/e-commerce leads, as well as drive insights to support assortment strategy for all our channels: retail, digital, and marketplaces.
- Drive projects and build business cases for new product categories, sales channels, and other business opportunities to support new sales and profit growth.
- Follow up on our full (omni, retail, and e-commerce) commercial initiatives and build strong cases for improvement in our discount strategy, leveraging web analytics, customer insights, sales, and cost data; enabling the best possible commercial decisions.
Qualifications
To be successful in the role of Commercial Business Analyst, you should have a strong commercial focus and be insight and data-driven, with a proven ability to drive results and work towards goals. You should have broad merchandising knowledge and commercial experience that understands the complete picture from customer demands on our offers.
What you need to succeed:
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in Economics or Business degree/relevant qualifications.
- Strong in driving commercial product excellence, strategic and analytical, with deep experience in business case building as well as follow-up and performance estimation.
- Understanding of product, stocks, and lifecycle management.
- High level of salesmanship and analytical proficiency; advanced Excel user.
- Effective collaborator with strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

This is a full-time position, reporting to the Regional Head of Merchandising for India. This position is based at the Support Office in Bangalore, Karnataka, India.
