Job Description

The external reporting finance team is involved in producing financial statements based on statutory rules and local GAAP/IFRS requirements on a quarterly basis. The team also prepares various reports and forms as prescribed by insurance regulatory authorities of countries where AXA XL writes its insurance business on a quarterly and annual basis. The team produces reports for the regulator to demonstrate sufficient solvency and liquidity levels as prescribed. Additionally, the team prepares various corporate close calendar reports, performs data clean-ups, and prepares reconciliations to support stakeholders and auditors.

Essential Responsibilities:

- Book accounting entries for Premium Tax, Guarantee Fund, IFRS to STAT difference, etc.

- Handle data requests from internal management, external agencies, and auditors.

- Prepare STATE Pages and Schedule T, including detailed analytics.

- Provide data support/input templates for quarterly and annual statutory financial statements (Yellow Book) as per US SAP (Statutory Accounting Principles).

- Work on various ancillary filings for the Yellow Book, such as NY Supplemental, Treasury Schedule F, and state-specific Schedule P.

- Focus on automation and simplification of templates/data requirements wherever possible.

- Conduct detailed analysis of reserve data and all technical accounts.

- Participate in projects to ensure that financial data are handled in full accordance with statutory requirements.

Required Skills and Abilities:

- CA with relevant years of experience in a reputed organization.

- Expert accounting knowledge with an excellent understanding of financial statements (P&L and BS).

- Effective command over Excel.

- Ability to work with large amounts of data.

Desired Skills and Abilities:

- Effective analytical skills with the ability to work resiliently and bring tasks to closure.

- Basic insurance accounting knowledge preferred.

- Ability to work extended hours during critical times.

- Good spoken and written communication and interpersonal skills.

- Willingness to travel to the US/Bermuda for training, if required.
