FP&A Analyst
The FP&A team provides data and analytics to multiple stakeholders every month/quarter to enable Senior Management to measure business performance over Segments, Business Groups, and Regions compared with the plan/prior year. The process involves deep analysis of data, triangulation with key parameters (Business vs region/country), and quick turnarounds. This role will focus on driving analytics to measure business performance by building outstanding checks and automating the reports wherever possible to enhance the analysis.
What will your essential responsibilities include?
- Work and assist the Ceded Re FP&A Manager in preparing and providing various financial analytics and reporting with a focus on quality review, timely delivery of reports, and collaboration with other teams and onshore.
- Prepare quarterly reports and ceded financial dashboards (Ceded Premium, Commission, Expenses, credit, and capital exposure, etc.).
- Conduct Treaty Placement analysis, which results in the changes expected in written & earned premiums.
- Develop and maintain existing Excel reports to improve existing/new reports.
- Support in Yearly Budgeting, Ceded Margin Analysis, Plan Allocation, and other exhibits.
- Maintain effective communication with onshore (both written and verbal) and manage expectations.
- Keep flexibility in reports to incorporate any high-level adjustments or structural changes.
- Support and be involved in various Ceded Re projects.
- Provide backup to the core FP&A team and extended reporting team, in time of need.
- Prepare ad hoc reports or projects.
- Support Reinsurance Segment Reporting & Analysis.
You will report to the Manager - Finance, Planning and Analysis.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- CA/ICWA with relevant years of experience post qualification or MBA Finance (Full-time) from a highly reputed university with relevant years of experience post qualification.
- Effective analytical mindset, structured work approach and high levels of attention to detail.
- Effective IT skills (MS Excel, MS Access).
- Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to analyze and manipulate huge volumes of financial and operational data.
Desired Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight reporting deadlines.
- Ability to work resiliently in a fast-paced multi-cultural environment.
- Good communication & interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrate a high degree of interest in technological progress.
- Knowledge of HFM, QlikView, and Anaplan will be of added advantage.
- A person from the Insurance Industry would be preferred.
