Job Description - Accounts Payable Supervisor

We are looking for an Accounts Payable (AP) Supervisor at our Bangalore location. The AP Supervisor will be responsible for supervising and supporting daily AP processes in a global public manufacturing company. This position reports directly to the Director of Finance, India, with dotted lines into regional accounting teams.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise a 3-person AP team handling US and EMEA accounts payable processes.
- Manage and execute weekly payment processes for both US and EMEA suppliers.
- Review US and EMEA purchase requisitions for correct coding and preparation.
- Assist EMEA AR team with POD monitoring.
- Prepare quarterly invoice and open PO accruals, journal entries, and reconciliations for US and EMEA companies.
- Prepare and audit monthly US corporate credit card statements and related journal entries.
- Assist the AP team with research and issue resolution on invoices and payments.
- Maintain supplier relationships with constant and timely communication.
- Manage the month-end close process related to US and EMEA AP subledgers.
- Serve as the main point of contact with regional accounting teams concerning the AP function and expense accruals.
- Assist with the annual year-end U.S. 1099 IRS reporting.
- Maintain SOX controls related to the AP function.
- Train and mentor new and existing team members.
- Maintain professional customer service for both internal and external customers.
- Handle ad hoc projects.
Qualifications / Skills:
- 6+ years of recent, constant accounts payable experience in a manufacturing environment.
- High school diploma required; AA degree preferred.
- Extremely detail-oriented with the ability to maintain a very high level of accuracy.
- Strong working knowledge of accounting fundamentals including the 3-way match process and accrual accounting.
- Strong organization, analytical, problem-solving, and reconciliation skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Accustomed to working under and meeting tight deadlines.
- Ability to work in a high volume, fast-paced environment.
- Thorough understanding of bank processing, ACH and wire transactions, checks, foreign currency, and international payments.
- Strong working knowledge and experience with accounts payable systems.
- Thorough understanding of SOX as it pertains to accounts payable processes and procedures.
- Technical understanding of ERP systems, Excel, and Word. Experience in Oracle EBS is a plus.
- Quick learner and a self-starter with the ability to work independently and with the team currently in place.
