JUNIOR ASSOCIATE - ACCOUNTING & REPORTING

Position Overview

The successful candidate will be expected to provide significant support to the Operations team in streamlining current practices and identifying innovative solutions for the India office. The job involves analyzing financial information and preparing financial reports to determine or maintain record of assets, liabilities, balance sheet, tax liability, or other financial activities within the organization.

Responsibilities

- Verify staff expenses and reimbursements as required.

- Update accounts payable and perform reconciliations.

- Manage and review Consultant/Vendor contracts.

- Check completed work by contractors and vendors.

- Ensure compliance with payment, reporting, or other tax requirements.

- Represent the Trust before taxing authorities if required and provide support during litigation involving financial issues.

- Provide internal and external auditing services for Programs.

- Manage the timesheet and expense system.

- Assist in drafting forms and manuals for accounting, bookkeeping, and support operations.

- Explore solutions to institutional and financial problems.

- Any additional responsibilities set by the Reporting Manager.

Qualifications and Requirements

- CA Inter, M. Com, or MBA in finance

- At least 0-2 years of full-time work experience in financial management

- Proficient knowledge about TDS filings, PT returns, and filings

- Strong conceptual understanding of accounting structure

- Understanding of taxes, cash flow management, bank reconciliation, and bookkeeping

- High levels of intellect and experience with the character and presence to make an immediate contribution to the institute

- Strategic thinker with an eye for details

- Experience in working in an NGO and knowledge of FCRA would be beneficial
