Job Title: Treasury and Asset Liability Management Specialist

Job Description:

We are seeking an individual to join the Treasury team at OakNorth, focusing on maintaining and developing the framework on Asset Liability Management (ALM) and Fund Transfer Pricing (FTP). The successful candidate will apply quantitative approaches across a wide remit of Treasury activities, including deposits, loan customer behaviors, and risk management concepts like Interest Rate Risk in the Banking Book (IRRBB).

Job Responsibilities:

- Engage in a variety of challenging problems and projects as part of day-to-day Treasury management.

- Build a modern Treasury Analytics framework from the ground up.

- Conduct quantitative and statistical analysis for the bank's Treasury Management, applying existing frameworks and introducing new approaches.

- Produce high-quality analytics to ensure effective management of the bank's balance sheet.

- Contribute to OakNorth Bank's ALCO with critical analysis for ALM decisions.

- Develop detailed and working knowledge of liquidity concepts like LCR and NSFR, and understand the liquidity treatment of financial products such as IR Swaps, Fx swaps, and Bonds.

- Provide recommendations on setting FTP rates and other charging frameworks.

- Manage interest rate risk in the banking book (IRRBB) and contribute to risk management decisions and reporting.

- Act as an intermediary within treasury and between business units and central functions like Market Risk Management.

- Create presentations for submission to the Asset and Liability Committee (ALCO).

- Partner with other business areas to align business and funding opportunities.

- Play a leading role in driving quantitative solutions through the model lifecycle and the bank's model risk framework.

- Design and monitor risk appetite limits, especially concerning Fx/IR risks, and suggest strategies for risk management.

- Contribute to setting up a treasury management system and hedge accounting if applicable.

- Develop and execute investment strategies for liquidity surplus, especially in the short term.

Desired Skills and Experience:

- 5 to 10 years of experience in the Treasury/Finance domain.

- Outstanding academic background in a financial or quantitative degree (e.g., CA, MBA Finance, CFA, FRM, CQF).

- Experience in Banking/Financial Services Treasury, Risk, ALM, or Analytics.

- Proven ability to develop predictive models, including behavioral modeling for loans and retail deposit portfolios.

- Logical thinker driven to find solutions to tough problems, with strong recommendations for senior management.

- Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint is essential.

- Experience with Tableau, PowerBI, or Alteryx is an added advantage.

- Clear thinker with strong research and analytical abilities, and quick learning capacity.

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.

- Resourceful problem solver with a focus on delivery, capable of multitasking.

- Ability to work cooperatively with all stakeholders in a rapidly changing, demanding, and rewarding environment.
