Job Title: Expense IC Assistant Manager
Basic Purpose of Job:
The Expense IC Assistant Manager provides subject matter knowledge in Financial Planning & Analysis. The role develops a thorough understanding of State Street’s business practices to effectively perform independent, complex reporting or analytics to support the ad-hoc needs of the Expense IC leads business unit Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
Responsibilities & Tasks Include:
- Completion of high-quality deliverables within the committed timeframe related to month/quarter/year-end closing, budget and forecast.
- Conduct deep dive analysis and consolidation.
- Perform expense reviews for direct and allocated expenses.
- Prepare Expense walks - waterfalls and variance analysis.
- Prepare management presentations describing insights.
- Maintain a holistic view of overall Indirect Expense Allocation process.
- Utilize advanced Excel skills including VBA and Power Query.
- Manage service delivery, technology, and other general & administrative chargebacks with various methodologies backing the allocations.
- Communicate with business units throughout the company to collect information for expense management reporting and analyses.
- Work closely with Expense Analytics team members and the extended EIC team to provide requested analysis, reports, and metrics.
- Responsible for timely and accurate preparation of various financial analyses on critical and complex issues.
- Serve as a subject matter expert, driving projects and work streams to enhance processes and reporting.
- Develop and update various financial models to generate analyses.
- Stay abreast of changes/updates, review and interpret guidance, and apply changes as needed.
- Prepare reports and presentation packages, and interpret results for management.
- Work cross-geographically to share knowledge and ensure consistent and accurate reporting.
Job Requirements:
Education and Experience:
- 7-8 years of experience within Financial Planning & Analysis.
- MBA/ CA, or secondary education preferred.
- Financial service industry experience preferred.
- Experience in preparation and analysis of Financial Statements and in a global setting.
- Experience working with business unit finance heads across regions.
Skills/ Knowledge:
- Knowledge of Hyperion Essbase, VBA, Power Query.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word), with advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, excel workbook maintenance best practices).
- Strong executive presence, detail oriented and well-organized.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to prioritize work and manage expectations from Senior Management.
- Solid problem-solving skills as well as written and verbal communication skills.
