Senior Finance Analyst, Business Partnering, Technology Finance Center of Excellence

Business & Team:
The Financial Services division, led by the Group CFO, partners with all areas of the Commonwealth Bank Group to provide financial control functions and specialist advice on financial management and strategy. This advice covers finance, audit, treasury, investor relations, security, and property. Technology Finance is responsible for providing financial management services to the Technology Business Unit.
Impact & Contribution:
You will be part of the Finance Centre of Excellence capability in Technology Finance. As a Business Partner supporting Retail Technology, you will contribute to business priorities by providing insight and supporting stakeholders with financial outcomes related to expense management and the commercials of Technology.
Your primary role is to:
- Support the Retail Bank investment portfolios and where required for Run BAU expenses
- Provide insights, analysis, and advice regarding past and future financial performance
- Provide robust financial control and effective management reporting
- Provide decision support and reporting for Technology strategic initiatives and investment programs
- Develop and deliver meaningful insights to drive better business outcomes and provide commercial support, including cost optimisation and simplification
- Provide guidance and advice to business leaders on the financial performance of the business, the financial plans, and forecasts and the financial impacts of change initiatives
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Responsible for regular deliverables including actuals, budget, and forecast reporting for opex and investment programmes/projects
- Financial control responsibilities including journal preparation, account reconciliations, balance sheet reviews, and FTE reporting
- Assist in delivering the annual budgeting and monthly/quarterly forecast processes
- Maintain strong stakeholder relationships within Technology, BU Finance, and the Retail Tech extended leadership team
- Reporting and analytics to facilitate decision-making
- Review, analyse, and constructively challenge the monthly project & BAU spend with a view to understanding the status of each project, including milestones, risks, issues, financial status (actuals, forecasts, budgets), and progress made each month
- Build and maintain relationships and trust with the project community and application management team to facilitate access to information and provide value-added advice to the assigned programme/project teams
- Engage in continuous improvement activities to streamline, simplify, automate, and assist in implementing new reporting tools
Essential Skills:
- 5+ years’ experience in finance and accounting industry
- Strong analytical skills with proven experience in budgeting and forecasting
- Strong stakeholder management, communication skills, and demonstrated experience in business partnering
- Experience in a Finance Centre of Excellence team with a strong track record in driving automation and implementation of reporting tools
- Strong understanding of Technology Business Management, gained either in a similar role and/or an IT Finance or IT Business Manager role

Qualifications:
Qualified CA/CPA/MBA Finance with 5+ years of experience in the finance and accounting industry.
