Description JOB DESCRIPTION Student and Academic Education Programs, within corporate activities, is looking for an undergraduate student who is detail-oriented, comfortable with multi-tasking, and passionate about finance, especially in internal audit - which may include performing risk assessment procedures, determining materiality, verifying adequacy of supporting documentation, performing variance/trend analysis and analytical procedures, preparation of audit report(s) and such other activities as may be required.This position is eligible for a 12-week full-time summer internship. The intern will also take part in IEEE's formal summer intern training program, with additional opportunities. The intern will gain knowledge in finance and auditing which opens potential career paths by the conclusion of the internship. Essential Duties With the significant number of projects happening in corporate activities, this is an exciting opportunity to acquire hands-on experience. Duties may include, but are not limited to:• Understanding the Internal Audit function of IEEE by closely working with the audit team.• Participating in the planning and execution of integrated audits. Execute audit procedures to evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of controls, completing assigned work within established and agreed timeframes.• Performing thorough testing of revenues and disbursements for the assigned audits and recording all exceptions.• Gaining knowledge of the underlying accounting transactions to establish an audit trail.• Ensuring compliance with all team / departmental standards and thoroughly documenting test work.• Verbally articulating audit issues and associated risks clearly and respectfully.• Discussing audit issues with sufficient quantification and support for inclusion in audit reports.• Assisting in the preparation of audit reports.• Developing and enhancing knowledge of audit and technology-related risks and controls through training.• Making recommendations for business and process improvements.Qualifications• Pursuing UG. Degree or PG. Degree in Commerce, Accounting & Finance,• High level of initiative and motivation,• Technically savvy, with knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
